MGA Revau inks deal to expand in U.S.

May 21, 2025 — Montreal-based MGA Revau Advanced Underwriting said it has linked up with a pair of companies in Texas to expand its trucking and construction insurance inroads in the U.S.

Revau announced May 12 that it has partnered with two independent firms: Brazos Specialty Risk Insurance and Twenty Mile Insurance Services — which are both based in Southlake near Dallas.

“This is an incredible milestone for Revau, marking our evolution from a small regional MGA . . . to an industry leader expanding beyond Canada,” Jean-François Raymond, president and CEO of Revau, said in a release.

“We have always believed our growth strategy extends globally.”

Revau was founded in 1993 under the name GroupAssur and was rebranded in 2022. It has offices in Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, Manitoba, Alberta and B.C.

The company established a presence in the U.S. in 2021 when it acquired Eagle Underwriting, a marine, cargo and shipping insurance specialist.

The latest deal is the eighth for Revau since Canadian private equity firm Novacap acquired a majority interest in 2020.

Brazos Specialty Risk was founded in 2007 and operates as a national wholesaler and an underwriting unit with specialties in transportation and construction.

Twenty Mile has been offering commercial general liability insurance coverages on a national basis for more than 20 years.
